Cadiz
orgins can be traced back to the Phoenicians in 1100 BC making it one of Spain’s oldest seafaring city. The
tour takes you through the narrow medieval streets of the Populo district and the
district of Santa Maria with its neo classical churches and Baroque towers.
As
you wind your way through the maze of narrow cobbled streets discover the
cities rich and colouful history, stop for a bit of shopping on the Plaza de San
Juan Dios and a drink on the Plaza de Las Flores a lively square with flower stalls,
cafes and restaurants. Not to be missed is the 17th Century Convent of Iglesia
de Santa Maria and the magnificent Cathedral with its soaring cupola towers and
Baroque facade.
